I had heard of Nomads through some friends of mine but I didn’t know all that much about it. The only thing I knew was that we would be building homes for deserving families; but what I didn’t know was how many memories I would bring back with me. Like how we packed into a hot van and crested the National Park driveway to see the Arizona sun back lit the Grand Canyon or later when we went to McDonald’s, it’s hard to say which is more memorable.
I had the opportunity to meet so many new people from around the country, many of whom I still talk to. The families that we helped we beyond grateful for our work; so much so that at the end of our stay, the woman who’s house we put on a new roof made us a home-cooked meal and gave me a pair of earrings that I still wear.
Nomads of Hope will always hold a special place in my heart. They have donated so much of their time and energy to help communities across the world. And I am so humbled to have traveled with and to be apart of Nomads of Hope.
